Wink

Yep Torolf, the subdiv-remeshings are a very fine solution in TopMod. Good job and thumbs up. Smile

Smile

Bin mal gespannt auf Dein nächstes.. Torolf

great looking stuff, torolf! but I have spent so much time now banging my head against the wall, trying to figure out how to import the subdivided .obj's from topmod to maxwell studio so I can light, add material and render. when I import objects to mxst now, they have holes in them and simply looks like crap Smile

Hi cybermaven.

The same here!
http://forum.jotero.com/viewtopic.php?p=394#394

Hi and welcome cybermaven Smile

The solution, tesselate all your objects before you import to maxwell!

As far as I know, it seems to be the single possibility in TopMod to process quads to triagles. But unfortunately one must select manually each single Polygon, so the principle.

Possibility 01 in TopMod:
Group / Remeshing / Miscellaneous Schemes /
Subdivide Face (deactivate "Use Quads (off->Triangles)"!)

That is useful obviously only in small models, but it functions. Wink

One processes meaningful manner the TopMod outputs in 3D Main applications as well as Maya, 3DS-MAX, Cinema 4D, Rhinoceros 3D, Silo and so further. A further example of the preparation to the rendering in Maxwell could be the modeling application "Silo" (http://www.nevercenter.com/).

Possibility 02 in Silo:
Open your TopMod-model in Silo!
Then select model and "Modify" / "Tesselate"
Safe in Maxwell relevant poly-format.

Tip:
There is also another very simple and elegant way to rendering your objects from Rhino to Maxwell.....
