Batwing Coral Minimal Surface



Batwing minimal surface construction with NURBS in Maya and some imagination. Converted to polys, remeshing and solidification in wires with coral structure....and yes, I like this noisy rendering stuff. Smile







Tools involved...only Maya!

@Olli: Leider gibt es SmartDuplicate nur für Maya. Aber für C4d gibt es sicherlicht so einige Scripte oder PlugIns wie beispielsweise MoGraph, die generative Funktionen bieten. Das Problem bei den meisten solcher Tools ist jedoch, dass sie die Geometrien nicht mittels Boundingbox über die Flächen verteilen und entsprechend im Verlauf derselben mitverformen. So werden die Instanzen bestenfalls an den Face-Normalen der Leitflächen ausgerichtet. Ich weiß nicht, ob es vergleichbares für C4d gibt. Ansonsten bliebe Dir ParaCloud als weitere kostengünstige Alternative, wie es auch Torolf bisweilen erfolgreich einsetzt.

Danke! Smile Vielleicht folgt heute Abend noch die Interlocked-Variante...mal sehen.

Na ich denke man sollte es in Zukunft den "Dieben" etwas unbequemer machen und das (c) ins Rendering weben. Es kann nicht schaden.

Hab da noch ne idee. Very Happy



wie wärs denn mit boolscher operation deinen namen in 3d in deine Modelle versteckt einzubauen? kann man dann doch nur durch nerviges polygon-lösch gefriemel wieder weg bekommen.



dann haben es diebe auch nicht so leicht, vor allem wenn sie beim 3d druck oder sonstigem dies nicht erst gleich bemerken, da versteckt.

There’re the first experiments with Qhull for applied research and studies.



Tools involved Qhull http://www.qhull.org/, Pymel Python Module (http://www.highend3d.com/maya/downloads/tools/syntax_scripting/4844.html http://code.google.com/p/pymel/), rendering with 3Delight for Maya http://www.3delight.com...and my new toolset Qhull<->Maya PyMEL-GUI.
